Tell us about yourself:
I began  working in the beauty industry when I was 14. I started at The Hair Company 2006, as Guest Services staff. I was planning to go to traditional beauty school, but when the offer to apprentice here came, it just seemed like the perfect fit.

I completed my apprenticeship under Jackie in 2011, and am now building my business in my own chair.

I grew up all over MD, but have been in Southern Maryland for the past 9 years. I have a dog and 2 cats. In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family.I am an avid Starbucks consumer, and of course shopping is a must!

When and why did you decide to join the beauty industry?
I've always loved the beauty industry. As soon as I began working in a salon at 14, I knew this was for me.

Where did you receive your training?
I am currently in The Hair Company's Protege Program. Instead of traditional beauty school, I will receive all my training on the job.

What do you like best about the industry?
It's fun! You can do so many different things and meet a lot of great people. The sky's the limit!

Why did you choose The Hair Company to call home?
It has a team of great people! There are so many opportunities for growth and education that many salons just don't offer.

What services do you enjoy performing the most?
I love color!!! There are so many different techniques to use and you can use your creativity. You can give each of your guest a unique style based on their needs.

Why do you think it is important to take advanced training?
The industry is always changing. You've got to keep up to keep your guests, and you, in the NOW!

What advanced training have you received?
Redken Color with Sandra Hurd, Redken Artist
Michael Cole, Business & Life Coach
Make up application, Andrea Bowes, Bare Minerals
MD Formulation, Product/Prescriptions

What does customer service/satisfaction mean to you?
Everything! I want all of our guests to leave 100% satisfied, with the look and feel they deserve.

Do you have a mentor/role model? Why do you chose that person?
Audry Hepburn! She is my favorite (late) actress and I respect her humanitarian work.

If you weren't int he beauty industry, what would you be doing?
Probably a vet tech. I love animals

What are your goals?
My professional goals are to gain everything I can through my training and to excel as a stylist.
