Tell us about yourself:
I've lived in Southern, MD all my life. I grew up in Charles County. Bill and I got married in June. We have a little girl named Avery and a son Parker.
When and why did you decide to join the beauty industry?
It all started when I was looking for a 'job' in high school, and I got a job as a shampoo girl. I had all intentions of going away to college to become a science teacher, but quickly got sucked into the 'fun' and ever changing environment. My 'job' turned into a 'career' when I decided to go to beauty school.
Where did you receive your training?
I attended Graham Webb Academy in Northern VA.
What do you like best about the industry?
I like that everyday it's different and fun. It's not the type of job where you 'dread' getting up in the morning to come to.
Why did you choose The Hair Company to call home?
Amber and I went to Graham Webb together. She kept talking about the salon (The Hair Company) that she worked at. When I moved to the county, I decided to check it out. And here I am!
What services do you enjoy performing the most?
I love color! I love that you can, for the most part, always change it. I enjoy that it sometimes challenges me.
Why do you think it is important to take advanced training?
Education is important because this industry is always changing, so you need to continue learning to keep up with the times.
What advanced training have you received?
The Redken Exchange in NYC, Color and Know Why
All classes offered by The Hair Company. Michael Cole and Sam Villa were the most memorable and amazing classes EVER!
What does customer service/satisfaction mean to you?
Customer service, to me means...that my guests leave happy and feel well taken care of.
If you weren't in the beauty industry, what would you be doing?
I would be a science teacher and a lifetime student. I love learning new things and I think it's hard to just learn one thing!
What are your goals?
My goal is to continue to grow as a person and stylist. I'd like to be able to retire at 50 and travel
